Often a new book distributor thinks that he or she needs to know many
techniques to impress the customer to make the sale. Some basic knowledge of
the operation may be needed, but the most important ingredient of success is
the willingness to go out. Success and failures are in the hands of Lord, as
revealed by this story narrated by Gaur Kirtana Prabhu, a member of the

How It Pleased Him

Distribute books. They’re out on the
street with a big stack of Prahbupada’s
books and non-larcenous lines,
just repeating what he’s said in his
writing, “this Bhagavata Purana is
as brilliant as the sun,” and the
people listened and handled a volume
from the stack.
“Just give a donation.” He gave
five dollars. That’s enough. Someone
else gave them ten. The books went out.
The distributor lost his fear and grew
confident and happy in his heart, and
Sydney, Central station, Australia. Things are really warming up here
in preparation for this years Srila Prabhupada marathon.
With great determination I asked a smart looking man whom was about to cross
the road. "Mate are you a doctor or a businessman?"
He proudly said "I'm a businessman."
"Great, let me show you one too!" I said, and I noticed there
was a lady that stopped with him.
He asked, "What's it about?
I told him, "This book (Bhagavat Gita) is about how to do good business. How to

I set up my book table about twenty feet away from where I usually
would. My usual spot was filled with tables representing the Army, Navy,
Police Dept., Fire Dept., Nurses, Teachers, National Guard, Sony
Studios, etc.
I was overwhelmed because they were everywhere but I was glad I had a
lot of BTG's with me which had pictures of devotees doing Harinama
sankirtana. A nice flow of kids kept coming to my table and I

Ah yes, the Prabhupada Marathon -- that glorious time of year when there
is an intense focus on the distribution of our jewels of wisdom, Srila
Prabhupada's books. More books going out means more people are going to come in
contact with the mercy of Krsna. But not only should we focus on the *quantity*
of books distributed but also on the *quality* of our distribution. Let's
also have an internal marathon to increase the quality of our service. The
Hare Krishna !
One computer company professional visited ISKCON Temple. He took Darshan of the
Deities Sri Sri Radha Parthasarthi and visited the Vedic Expo museum. He was
very much inspired by the Bhagavat Gita Experience Show and after seeing the
Show heÊhimself paid for eleven hundred Bhagavat Gitas. He said he very much
liked the hi-tech Museum.
This Vedic Expo Show itself did the preaching.

Every Friday night, Queen Street downtown Auckland come the happy
Hare's, chanting and dancing. And every Friday night, when we pass the
big sports bar comes Jerry out from the dungeon of smoke and
intoxication and whatever else to chant and sway, arms reached in the
air just like Lord Caitantya would dance.
About three Harinams ago Janananda Maharaja famous as he is for
adventourous Harinmas led us into this bar from which Jerry always
emerges. The following week on Harinam Jerry appeared not in his usual
Anantacarya das: By Krishna's mercy the devotees [in Mexico] were able to
produce the first-ever Krishna conscious book in Spanish: "La Conciencia de
Krishna El Sistema de Yoga mas Elevado" on the same day that Srila Prabhupada
was preaching in Cuernavaca. The devotees filled a cardboard box with the
first copies and rushed them to the Casino de la Selva, were Srila
Prabhupada was addressing a very cultured and respectful audience. And what
