HG Dvarkadhish Prabhu and HG Lilawati Mataji arrived Ujjain on Gita Jayanti
day. We are much obliged for their wonderful association here in Ujjain. In
one of his classes, HG Dvarkadhish Prabhu narrated an incident that recently
happened in Bombay. This incident is a very influential example to see how
mankind is finally reaping the benefits of all Srila Prabhupadaês hard work.
About a week before Gita Jayanti, one devotee in Bombay went out to distribute
Srimad Bhagavad Gita. At one place, he knocked the door but no one replied. He
The Supersoul is helping in the marathon--even apparently "gone high-
tech."
Here is an extract sent to me about one devotee, soon to begin his
advanced degrees in environmental science:
He prayed intensely to the Panca-tattva before embarking upon his
first full day of book distribution. Returning in the evening
completely enlivened, he said he wants to do as much as possible
during the marathon. The following morning he told me of an amazing
dream he had that night. In the dream he was asleep, and then a text
Hare Krishna !
All glories to Sri Sri Guru and Sri Gauranga !
All glories to Srila Prabhupada !
During H.H. Gopal Krishna Goswami Maharaj's New Delhi visit, he had meetings
from morning to evening. At 6:00 in the evening his servant announced time
for first Prasad (breakfast). Then, a businessman visited The ISKCON
Temple and another meeting followed. This person had met Maharaj during
Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra 2009 at Delhi, India. Maharaj spoke to him
regarding ISKCON's programs and activities especially the importance of
Dear devotees
Town Hall, Sydney, Australia.
In the heart of Sydney's hustle and bustle, with all my might, I was
attempting to distribute Prabhupada's books.
After half an hour nothing was happening. I could hardly even get someone to
stop let alone take a book.
Heavily governed by the mode of passion I was loosing my enthusiasm and I
still had the whole day ahead.
So I cried out loudly, many people would have heard, Krsna! Help me!
Nityanada! Gauranga!!!!
I felt instant relief and kept trying.
I distributed a book for a ten-euro donation to a woman with a young boy.
She does yoga, and I told her that I do it, too. She took interest when I
told her that the difficult goal of yoga is easier to reach by kirtan-yoga,
the chanting that she could hear near us, performed by three devotees. These
saints (on the the cover of the TLC), I said, taught kirtan. Because she
works nine hours a day and then takes care of her son, she has little time
to read, so she was not going to take the book. I told her, however, that if
A guy came to my table and said, “Three years ago you showed me the
Bhagavad-gita and I really wanted it and told you I would be back to get it.
When I returned you were gone. But now I have money I would like to get it."
Delayed book distribution.

I was showing the BG to one gentleman, he expressed his interest but said he
was a Christian. He said, “If you can show me in this book where Jesus is
praised I’ll take it.” I showed him 11.55 purport where Prabhupada says, “There
It was hot summer day in May 2003. I was preparing for medical entrance exam
and was completely exhausted by the long hours I had put. Add to it the
tremendous anxiety about carrier and future.
I desperately wanted to read some inspiring book, which would give me some
peace of mind. I started searching books on the shelf. In the corner was
Bhagavad-gita As It Is. It had been kept on my book shelf for nearly ten years.
I opened it and began to read. I realized that every verse in the Gita was
related to me and the Gita had solutions to my problems. I started reading
My Dear Upananda,
Please accept my blessings. I beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter of
January 11, 1972, and I have noted with pleasure that you are increasing your
book distribution and that you have "struck at the very heart of the city of
Melbourne.'' You have understood our philosophy rightly, that we boldly
challenge anyone, philosopher, scientist, educationist, to understand our
philosophy, and for that we enter without hesitation into the heart of the
biggest cities and preach to anyone and everyone the message of Lord Caitanya,
That it was a really cold day made book more necaterian. Nobody was stopping,
all of a sudden this student passed by with his huge headphones I waved to
him, smiling he took off his head phones. I presented the gita saying everyone
with a smile gets to see a copy.
He (His name was Tom) happily grabbed the gita opened the book and started
reading. He said he studies religion and phylosophy and he really liked this
NETI NETI (not this, not that) philosophy. I explained how that comes from
the vedas and Gita is the essence of the vedas.
